Alex, your lovely plugin works great, except I was hoping to get “#parenting”, “#family” and so on appearing at the end of my tweets, but they’re not.

Am I doing something wrong, is there some limitation I’m blowing or is this not something the plugin is supposed to do?

If it’s the latter, can you please put that in?

    Thank you,
    Gal

  • As far as I know, that feature isn’t part of Twitter Tools, though, of course, I’m not Alex. But someone really should get on that, shouldn’t they. Cool feature idea.

I thought that’s what the ” Tag(s) for your tweet posts” field is for on the admin page.

    Hello? Any response?

I’m having the same problem as galbaras. I see nothing about this new feature in TT 2.0 within the interface.

I believe the “Tag(s) for your tweet posts” option is for when you are creating blog posts from tweets. The admin interface could certainly be improved for clarity.

In the meantime, if anyone’s interested, after racking my brain for a while, I’ve swapped the prefix “New blog post” on Family Matters to “More #parenting from #Family Matters: ” and on The Motivational Speaker to “More #inspiration from The #Motivational #Speaker : “.

This should work, although it generates somewhat weird tweets.

Note: make sure not to exceed 140 characters with the shrunken URL (now that IS a good feature of Twitter Tools).

Good idea galbaras. Although it won’t work for me as I post on different topics…

Just found that refreshing the plugins page after installing Twitter Tools 2.0 shows more plugins. One of them is for configuring hash tags.

@arangas Thank you so much for this. From https://alexking.org/blog/2009/08/03/twitter-tools-2-0, I gathered post tags are still not being used automatically, only a fixed default. As this is no better than my own previous trick (see above), I’ll stick to it.

With 2 possible solutions, I’ll set this thread to “resolved”.
