Firstly this is my first post ever on these forums, but I am learning very quickly having completed courses in CSS / Html / wordpress / Photoshop etc.

Using a two column layout through the standard two column option in the edit page menu (just above edit content area) I can get a nice two column set up for part of my page. Indeed I can get a shaded div area or a table into the first column without issue. It looks perfect. However, in trying to do the same in the second column it just does not work. The table gets placed just below the two column area but spans the whole page. If I try doing the same with a div by choosing a different background colour, the div is marking up the whole width of the page, overlapping existing content in column 1.

I recognise that tables are deprecated and that due to the responsive design this may not be totally straight forward, but is there anything you could suggest.

Overall I think the theme is good with lots of options which are often only available on premium versions.

    Many thanks in anticipation.

    John

Hi John, are you able to post a link to your site?

The site is in maintenance mode at the moment, any quick way round this?

Ok, have just disabled the maintenance mode, but will look to restore this. Here is the link to the page as it stands and hopefully you can see the issue.

    Many thanks for your help.

just thought I would add that this does not have a table in the second column – I tried this first of all, but it did not work , as noted above. My next step was to try a div – here you can see the div with a border – I out the CSS in the advanced section.

    Hey,
I See you have a column on the left sucessfully in a column div the issue is your column gets closed after your table. But the next column is not started. Are you using the theme shortcodes to make this.

    Like

    [columns] [span6]

    add content here

    [/span6][span6]

    add content here

    [/span6][/columns]

Thank you so much for this, I was using the shortcodes but somehow I managed to delete part of the code.

Many thanks for your assistance on this. Greatly appreciated, your service has been excellent. Will provide feedback when completing site.

    Enjoy your day,
