Well this is no big deal, but it’s been this way for a long time and I figured I’d ask. I was originally a WPMU user, and have upgraded to WP3 from WPMU. Now I have two “Domain Mapping” menu items under Tools:

    1) domainmapping
    2) dm_admin_page

The fact that they’re named the same thing in the menu makes me think something isn’t set up exactly right. The first one is for mapping the domain of whatever site you happen to be on at the time. The second one is for general domain mapping configuration including an IP address, CNAME, etc. Is this due to some legacy code from the old WPMU installation?

Maybe more to the point, is there something I should do to standardize my installation/configuration?

  • No, you need to upgrade the domain mapping plugin. If you had originally placed it in the mu-plugins folder (which we did back then) they you won;t get update notices for it.

    so go upgrade the plugin.
