Two Images Side By Side as Front Page

Hi

I want to have my website so I have two images side by side as my front page. The full front page with no white wrapping around it.

One image will link to my painting (art)
One image will link to my drawing/sketching (art)

I want to basically remove all the white around everything and just have the two images clickable (linked) to each section.

Is this possible? Right now I have a bunch of images but I only want two – side by side – taking up the full front page.
