    Hi all,

I’m having two problems I believe are related, but don’t know where to start in fixing them.

    1. This is a new site I’m developing as part of a class project for a client. As a result, I would fully expect that the welcome guide to the block editor comes up when I first write a new page. However, even after closing it, the welcome guide comes up every time I use the editor.
    2. When I try to publish said page, I get the following message: Publishing failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.
    3. How do I fix these issues? I’ve disabled all plugins except for WPForms.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I suspect a misconfiguration in the hosting. If you call up the start page and want to open “Sample Page”, a 404 appears – i.e. the page cannot be found. The reason for this will probably be that the “pretty permalinks” are not processed, the .htaccess file is probably missing or ignored.

In the backend, go to Settings > Permalinks and set it to “Simple”. Does what you found work then? I think so.

Then change the setting back to “post name”. Does it not work again then? Then you should contact the support of your hoster.

Thanks for that, that worked. Changing the permalink structure fixed the original issue, then the issue did not return when I switched it back to post name.
