Two sites come up blank

  • We have a test Thelonius server, and I just added a new blog for our training department.

    The owner in IT training did “something” (he thinks it might be to do with a plug-in for event handling) and now his blog comes up as a blank page.

    I deleted his blog and added it again in the hope of resetting the blog, but still a blank page. So, I created him a test blog, and that comes up blank.

    I’m now trying to create myself a test blog, and that fails with “Missing or invalid site address.”.

    Have I broken my MU install? I’ve tried optimising the database tables, I’ve checked the http error log and it delivers nothing.

    Though when I do the site create I get:
    ‘[Fri Jul 23 14:42:53 2010] [info] [client 10.20.69.84] (32)Broken pipe: core_output_filter: writing data to the network’

    Any hints? I was about to put the server live but this is clearly unacceptable.

  • A blank page is a php error. Always.

    If he did something with a plugin, then disable the plugins. That’s the number 1 reason this happens.

    (especially following “I think I did something with this plugin” ;P )

    Go look in the plugins folder. Find the offending plugin & remove it. If that doesn’t work, rename the plugins folder itself.
