• I recently designed a new homepage using a site custom theme’s (inherited from client’s previous vendor) full width page, with Elementor as the editor. I published it, changed the static homepage in Appearance>Customize>Homepage Settings and in the site’s Settings>Reading. The problem is now both the old and new homepages are showing stacked on top of each other. What am I missing/doing wrong?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • The lower section is from Elementor’s template with ID 272, see if you can find it under templates. I think you can see the ID in the URL when you move the mouse over the “Edit with Elementor” link. If you put the template in the trash, it should fit.

That’s the new homepage I want to keep. The old one is the first one you see on top, that I’m wanting to remove. How do I remove it?

Since you are using a custom theme, it is difficult to judge. You would have to look at the programming of the theme to find a solution. The fact that 2 different contents are displayed on one page is very unusual and not normal for a theme.

It’s so weird, and I’m still learning WordPress. But here’s the active homepage.php in theme files, it shows no evidence of my new homepage. I can’t delete the theme, because I have 4 other pages I need to publish that use the theme’s full width page.
