• Hello,

I have a website powered by wordpress. I want to open a new wordpress site on a different domain.

Some posts should be available from both sites and I want to avoid to duplicate the posts in two different admin interface.

    What is the best solution?

    – Install the WordPress on the new domain and link to the first site’s database ?

    – Multisites ?

In advance, thanks for your help.

    Yves

Thanks Roy for your fast reply!

Will it be possible to share posts between two sites of the network?

Eather the whole content, eather from a selected category. The main thing is to avoid to post content two times for each site that will have to display it…

I use a plugin Diamond Multi Site Widget which has options to do that.

    ok, great!

I wonder if I do as many wordpress installation as the number of domain/sites I have. Each installation point to the same database so the content sharing is perfect…

Do you think that could work?

It’s possible, but I’d go for a network.

I would do the network ONLY because that’s ONE login for you, and ONE place to update plugins etc. I have to do 12 sites, and it’s much faster to only have to update them 5 times (due to the server/site combos).

Thanks guys for all your replies…

The option would probably be to stay on the same site and work on the theme so the parts of the sites will be correctly distinguished.

This seams to be the best way to share content between sites…

    cheers

A network activated theme will change all over the network if the network admin edits it. I do the same on my own website.
