Two wp-content directories?

  • My www.ads-software.com site has been lying idle for months, and I’m just getting it up and going again. I’ve just upgraded to the newest version, and backed up my databases with phpMyAdmin.

    However, in trying to get wp-supercache to work, I’ve discovered that I seem to have two wp-content directories:

    /var/www/html/wp-content

    and

    /var/www/html/wp-content/wp-content

    Should I just remove the “inner” directory and hope for the best?

  • I would backup your website to be safe and then delete the inner wp-content. That way if something bad happens when you delete the inner wp-content you can just restore it.
