Indeed it does, because it keeps track of every image optimized to make sure we aren’t producing extra cpu load by re-optimizing images.

Can I turn off and then remove plugin without any loss of images? Or what is the correct procedure to remove plugin and tab in sql?

If you aren’t using scheduled optimization or plan to do another Bulk Optimize, you can just run a truncate operation on the ewwwio_images table which will empty it out. The plugin can also be safely removed without messing up your images.
