I upgraded to 2.8 with a lot of regrets. I now have downgraded
to 2.7.1 with a little better recovery, but 2.8 still left
    behind some issues.

    In 2.8, I could not ..

    – add permalinks
    – could NOT edit drafts
    – in one particular case it re-formatted a draft to the where I will
need to start all over again
    – could not navigate within a draft using arrow keys

    Seriously … any suggestions ..?

I just switched to the default theme and now everything is just a
white page. I cannot even edit anymore …

I’m getting the same problem with several of my WordPress sites. Is there a way to downgrade back to 2.7?

    Seriously

help – me too – just posted a help me post….anything you click on gives a pageload error – redirect loop. I have not checked my drafts – yikes I have several hundred.

I downgraded, but the upgrade to 2.8 seriously tainted everything.
Of course, if you backed up your DB and WP files you will have
better success downgrading. For myself, I am stuck with this
    terrible upgrade.

I just want my visual editor back. I cannot ever edit posts as of
    now.

The visual editor for some reason the new install doesn’t overwrite tinyMCE file properly.

Here is how to fix it.

    1. download wordpress 2.8 from www.ads-software.com and unzip
    2. find wp-includes/js/tinymce
    3. in your website directory find wp-includes/jc/tinymce
    4. delete this file and replace with the new one

true … thank you .. In addition, you MUST, completely exit
your browser, then re-perform the upgrade (regardless of whether
it is at the latest or not), then exit the browser again. Then
    visual editing will be restored.
