Ugh… What a waste of my time!!

  • I spent several days crafting beautiful newsletters with this plugin, migrated all my subscribers to it, changed my web site to use its subscription widgets, painstakingly wordsmith the various email templates such as double opt-in, welcome messages, etc, created and updated the various pages for users to manage their subscription profiles, painstakingly crafted the newsletter targeting so that my subscribers do not receive unnecessary spam… and a whole lot more.

    Then I tested the whole thing with my user group (its great that one can flag a few subscribers as a test group), and was finally ready to go.

    Scheduled a bunch of newsletter to fly at various intervals to different subscriber groups and considered it a good weeks work.

    Only none of the newsletters were sent… None… Nada!

    I tried again and again and again… The scheduling simply does not work. If I have to send each email to each subscriber group one by one, I might as well use my normal desktop email software and do a bulk email to my individual subscriber groups every morning!

    Now I have to do it all over again with a different newsletter subscription management plugin… or maybe I should just quit trying to do all of this myself and move over to something like MailChimp like other sane people.

    What a bloody waste of my week!!!!!

    Hi, if you asked for support when you saw the scheduler was not working, we could have help you. If we missed to answer to support calls, we’re sorry, sometime there are really busy days and we cannot answer in a short time.

    May be the plugin itself was showing a notice on top of admin panels reporting the schedule problems and the status panel probably reported other important information and link to solutions.

    Anyway, thank you for your report, it will be useful to improve the checks and the warning inside the plugin admin side!
