ugly permalink not always displaying

hi.
i am using wp 2.1. everything is set up fine and running on a free host called freeweb.hu.
my blog is https://www.freeweb.hu/kerpelgabor/ k.
the host does not allow an .htaccess file to be written, so i am using the ugly permalink.
the issue is that it does not always appear. signing in with admin user, going to options, updating the permalink structure to another one, then changing back to the default structure helps if i do it several times one after the other – when i then view my site and go into a post, the correct structure /?p=42 appears.
then, when i logout and visit my blog, and enter the same post which worked correctly, the only thing i see in my browser status bar is the address of my page (quoted above).
then i have to repeat the whole procedure.
i am running under firefox 2.0.0.2
any help would be appreciated
