Ultimate Member blocks deactivation of Avatar

Just a headsup, no support required at this time.
I am not sure when this started happening, however the site I noticed it on is using WP 4.4.
The problem exists with all other plugins deactivated, and it happens in all themes (including default WP 201x)
WordPress Settings –> Discussion –> Avatars
> Uncheck Avatars (Avatar field closes)
> Save Changes
Avatar Field returns, selected save option is ignored.
> Disable all plugins.
Repeat settings above, works. Avatars now disabled.
> Re-enable plugins one by one (leave Ultimate Member to last).
Avatars remain disabled until Ultimate Member is re-enabled.
