Ultimate Member Breaks Roles / WCMP Marketplace + Member Directories

I hope you can help as this has sucked up an incredible amount of time trouble-shooting problems and errors.

Some feedback: I have a site that uses UM and WC Market Place and there seem to be issues with UM knocking out the label of ‘vendor’ role, see below:

I’ve actually been experiencing huge problems with Ultimate Member all round, it feels like there are a lot of issues with the plugin lately, it’s cost an awful lot of time and I’ve still not got a set up functioning as described by the plugin docs.

Before 2.052 it seemed to work fine. At 2.052 although things worked for admin just fine, if you viewed a member directory as another role it just didn’t work, it wouldn’t bring up the page with the directory even though there were no restrictions on the page (tried testing on another newly created page, and also by creating a brand new directory with the same set-up, no good…).

Every other version after that has had issues – including the most current version.

I’ve downloaded and tried all of them. I realise that can often be the case when big changes are made, and then tweaks are found and updated in new releases one after the other to sort the issues, but there seem to still be some significant issues with the functionality of the plugin in Profiles / Member Directories – which is the fundamental role of the plugin.

Sometimes the member directory works for one role and not another when both are marked to see the user type, and can use the page – despite the settings carefully checked and amended for any changes per version (recently you’ve split the search filters off to search and filters, etc etc). In some versions the form appeared and no users for one role but users appearing okay for admin, other times just the form appears for all. If I back track versions the outcome changes although still isn’t right. Not one instance has worked so far and I’ve downloaded and checked all of them.

As above some versions knocked out labels from non-UM user roles (as touched on in this thread) causing them to cease functioning, for instance WCMP above, the vendor label was knocked out. This causes the that plug to cease functioning. After very careful testing and backing up from a saved database about a million times, I’ve pinpointed this to editing that role with UM in the Role Editor. It just breaks it. I can confirm that issue hasn’t arisen so far with the latest version 215.

I’ve started a new thread here as this is not just about the member directory, there’s something else going on if UM is breaking other roles.

Right now my situation is as follows:

Latest install of everything:
– Member Directory not working, just comes up empty.
– Member Directory checked for settings, all as it should be.
– Tried new directory, tried new page, neither worked.
– Fields visibility not working on non-UM roles.
– Can’t manage non UM roles with role dropdown profile field
– Tried adding normal dropdown on both non and UM profiles, to automatically display some info with setting View only, can’t edit, and pre-selected info. Field just didn’t show up.

I’ve been considering buying from your plugin repository, but I have to say I’m not feeling very confident at the moment, I really hope this is just a glitch of some kind and you can help as it’s a great plugin; when it works!

Please advise on how I might be able to fix this.
