• I went on to Update my WordPress site’s function.php file on the dashboard and I get this error as follows:

“Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.”

I then went to disable my plugins one by one. The error persisted until I disabled Ultimate Member Plugin which allowed for the file to be updated successfully. So, how do I fix an issue when its with a plugin? Thanks.

    Hi @andrewh1350,

Are you using any custom code in your theme’s functions.php file that is related with Ultimate Member? If you are not able to edit the theme file from inside your dashboard, that means you are having any code that is throwing an error.

    Thanks.

I am not using any custom code for Ultimate Member in that file. I do have other php files and they are not updating as well.
