Ultimate Member not sending mail

    I have checked the forum and Google but have not been able to find anything that applies to this problem
    Ultimate Member is not sending emails. I have “Requires Admin Approval” set. I have the email templates turned on.
    No email is sent when someone registers and is Pending Approval.
    No email is sent when the Admin approves someone for membership who is Pending Approval.
    The email for Pending Approval after Registration was working but it is no longer working. I have not previous tested the “Approval” email.
    The only thing I think I have done since the Pending email was working is I moved the file pending_email.php to welcome_email.php.
    I would appreciate any help.

  • Look in your spam/junk folders of your email client.

    If you send to a gmail address from a hosting server
    your email will probably be found in a spam/junk folder.

    If there are Ultimate Member emails in the spam/junk folder it’s your hostings problem. Solution is to setup emails using SMTP.

    If not found: Install the “Check & Log Email” plugin and look in the email log if Ultimate Member plugin is sending emails or not.

    Thank you for helping me with this isssue.
    I installed the Check Email plugin and sent a test message. I did not receive the email from the Check Email plugin.

    I will be going to my host and check the email from there. I will let you know anything I find. In the meantime, I would appreciate hearing any thoughts you may have.

    Hi @billreich

    Have you tried setting up a WP SMTP Mail plugin? It should fix the issue with the email relay issue.

    Thank you for your response about wp smpt. I could not get it to work. When I send test email from this plugin, I do not receive any email.
    When I send an email directly from the website email, it works ok.
    So, I need to try to figure out why this is so.
    The thing that is most frustrating is that it was working fine and now this is the only thing stopping me from officially launching my site.
    I need to try to figure this out.
    In the meantime, I would appreciate hearing any thoughts you may have.

    Thank you for the added information about the smtp server.
    The site is now sending emails. I just have a few more things to fix and I am all set.
