    Hello Support,

I hope this message finds you well.

I recently updated the plugin on my site successfully. However, when I attempted to run the “Ultimate Member – Upgrade Process” option, I encountered an issue. The process seems to halt after a certain period and prompts me to contact support for assistance.

    Please check the screenshot

Could you please provide guidance on resolving this matter? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your attention to this issue.

    Hello Support,

I’ve attempted the process four times already, but unfortunately, I’m still encountering the same issue.

We had similar problems when upgrading an older UM a while ago.

Tracked it down by watching the browser console network tab and identified the failing upgrade step there by looking at its ajax parameters and finding and fixing the problem in related UM upgrade package step php script from there.

In our case one major issue was a PHP fatal error of a fputs() call when the fopen() for it failed and was not checked in 2.0-beta1/email_templates.php step which stopped the whole process. Your reason might be different though, depending on your setup.

There were also other upgrade problems, e.g. type difference string (old) vs. bool (new) of members_page setting which caused problems in other functions deep down in code path, so make sure to uncheck, save, re-check, save every option you have in UM backend to fix those manually.

    Hello Ov3rfly,
    This not work for me.

The last entry (including HTTP Request headers) in browser console network tab on your Upgrade Process page when the it stops could be helpful.

    1. Look at your Browser web Console if you have any JavaScript errors.
Mouse right button click, select Inspect then Console in the Menu.

    2. Try to do a Theme/Plugin conflict test if your Theme
or another Plugin is causing a conflict with UM.

    https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/96-how-to-do-a-plugin-theme-conflict-test

    3. Enable PHP error logging if the debug will give some more info about this issue.

Read this guide: “How to enable debug logging”

    https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/1751-enable-debug-logging

You will probably get a PHP log file with notices and errors in this file:
    .../wp-content/debug.log

Post the content of this file here in the Forum and we can give you the PHP error explanation. For best formatting use the Forum’s CODE format.`
