UM – Manage conditional fields support doesn’t work

I want to make first_name field visible if role is a.
So I first created a dropdown where I could set the role and made a,b,c as options.
And I created a field to enter first_name and set Manage conditional fields support .
“show” If “role” “equals to” “a”
But when I click a, the first_name field doesn’t appear.
(The first_name field is created, but it remains display:none even when option a is selected.)
* Even if I change “equals to” to “contains”, the first name field doesn’t appear.
Is there something I’m missing? I want to be able to use this feature.thank you
