I have just installed wordpress to create a website for a client. Now my problem is that it there seem to be a (g)avatar on the admin page which also displays when submitting a comment.

Now this is indeed a picture of me, and I find it disturbing that it appears without having applied myself. How is this possible? Does WordPress have some sort of access that I am unaware of?

Furthermore how do I remove/change it?

Thank you in advance for your help.

You used the same email address on the site as you did in your gravatar account. That’s how gravatars work. There’s nothing sinister going on here.

Ok, I have checked the gavatar site, and it does seem I have an account there which probably only exists due to a blog on blogger many years ago about webcomics, however the avatar was a cartoon, as a rarely post pictures of myself online. Furthermore this is a picture I would never upload and a picture taken long after I finished the blog.
