    Hello,
I’d like to test your events calendar 4.7.3 plugin on theme twenty fourteen.
I tried to install it but it keeps giving me error messages like this one that the directory “…wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/Tribe/Shortcode” could not be created. Installation failed.
Before I cleared all files of the events calendar via ftp but it’s not working.

    What is going wrong here.

    Plugin-Site message:
    Plugin-Installation aus Datei: the-events-calendar.4.7.3.zip

    Entpacken des Pakets …

    Das Plugin wird installiert …

Verzeichnis konnte nicht angelegt werden. /mnt/web107/e0/32/5162332/htdocs/isi-ev.de/public/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/Tribe/Shortcode

    Plugin-Installation fehlgeschlagen.

    Thanks for help

  • Hey there,

    Thanks for reaching out ??

Sorry for the wait! We’ve been experiencing a high volume of support requests.

Can you remove the plugin files, and upload the new version manually? > https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/the-events-calendar.4.7.4.zip

    Take care,
    Ed ??

    Hi Ed,
thanks for help – but it did not help.
I tried to install as you said ( and I cleared the plugin folder of the old events calendar file).
While installing it stoped and I got this message:

Installing Plugin from uploaded file: the-events-calendar.4.7.4.zip

    Unpacking the package…

    Could not copy file. the-events-calendar/common/src/resources/js/app/hoc.js

I use the newest WP Version.

    What shell I do?

    Hey there,

Does this still happen with the newest version (4.8.1)?

    Take care,
    Ed ??

    Hi Ed,

sorry but I tried both ways

at the plugins site it says and installing directly via zip-file comes the following msg:

    Unpacking the package…
    Installing the plugin…
    Could not create directory. /mnt/web107/e0/32/5162332/htdocs/isi-ev.de/public/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/common/src/admin-views
    Plugin installation failed.

Is sth. wrong on my side?

    Best all of luck
    Oliver

    Hey Oliver,

Have you had The Events Calendar installed on this site before?

    Is this a new site?

This could be a permissions issue where your plugins directory is not writable.

Curious if you are able to install 4.7.2 ? https://file.io/xy8YiR

    Take care,
    Ed ??

    Hi Ed,

I will see what I can do and come back to you.
The link leads to an error page.

    Thanks.
    regards

    Hi Ed,
problem solved. It was a serverside issue. Our Admin extend the storage space and now e.g. directories can be created.

Another question: I am building a site with Learnpress (LMS). I would like that courses are displayed in a calendar view. Does your plugin support the integration with Learnpress?
    (Any tipps would be helpful)

    Thanks for your time

    Cheers from Berlin
    Oliver

    Hey Oliver,

Glad you got it figured out!

I haven’t really heard of anyone integrating Learnpress with TEC.

You may be able to modify The Events Calendar templates to include queries for your classes, this would be ideal if the other plugin uses custom post types.

This would likely take quite a bit of dev work, but could be possible with determination!

    Take care,
    Ed ??

Just tried installing TEC today on a fairly new website.

I received a failed install notice, with an error message that said the file was already created. I used the setting to overwrite any existing copies, but got the message again. Then it indicated that www.ads-software.com was having trouble with my server, blah, blah, blah.

Unfortunately, I sent my initial question to your support ticket system and I see now that your support form does not provide a copy of my inquiry and the email acknowledgement is just a generig “we’re out of town” message. ??

Looks like this will never install correctly on my site… true?

Also, I now see that 3 days ago another user complained that TEC caused a security issue on their site.

Any help here would be appreciated.
