    I consistently get:

    Could not copy file. wordfence/images/loading.gif

when I try to install wordfence. Originally I had wf installed, but the update to the latest .20 failed, so I de-activated and deleted and now I get the above when I try to re-install.

When files can’t be copied in a new installation (or during reinstallation), it may mean that you are low on disk space.

If you use a caching plugin, try clearing the cache — or if not, do you have any old themes or plugins that you’re not using, that you could uninstall?

After either of those, if you can install Wordfence successfully, or if it gets stuck on a different file, then low disk space was the issue. If you can’t do either of the above, removing old backups of the site would work too (just remember to download them first if you need them).

If it doesn’t help let me know, and I’ll look for other possibilities.

have been using wordfence on our site for months. upgraded to premium yesterday. file uploads to host server just fine, but will not activate. message appears stating that core files have been altered. not even host techs can figure this problem out. have no “ADD NEW” button in plugins page.
