    Hi there!

I’m no longer able to accept payments/orders on my website, help please!

It seems my Checkout page just recently changed to a blocks-based editor (or when it did this I really have no idea, I may have by accident some days/weeks ago); but now something just changed in the last day or two and now all my payment methods claim to be incompatible, but my research says they should be fine! I have tried them all, but get the same result.

I typically use the PayPal/Pay Later set as well as the Advanced Card options, but none of the available options are working.

I see this error after adding an item to my cart and attempting to checkout:

“There are no payment methods available. This may be an error on our side. Please contact us if you need any help placing your order.”

I have tried disabling all plug-ins, and re-enabling only the necessary ones. Ive also tried disabling/re-enabling different payment methods and nothing has resolved my problem.

Please let me know if additional information is needed to troubleshoot.

  • Hi @wiap

Unable to accept orders – Blocks/Payment Method Incompatibility. I see this error after adding an item to my cart and attempting to checkout:

“There are no payment methods available. This may be an error on our side. Please contact us if you need any help placing your order.”

From what I understand, you’re experiencing some difficulties with the payment methods on your Checkout page. I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when your business relies on these transactions.

From your description, it sounds like the problem could be related to recent updates or changes in your website, possibly with the transition to the blocks-based editor. However, I can assure you that all the payment methods you mentioned (PayPal/Pay Later and Advanced Card options) are indeed compatible with WordPress.com. You find the list of payment gateways fully supported by the Cart and Checkout blocks, ?? Here

Having checked your website, I wasn’t able to replicate the issue you described. Both payment methods appeared to be available on the checkout page and I didn’t encounter any error messages. This could mean that the issue is specific to certain conditions or settings that weren’t present during my check.

Let’s try a few things to further investigate and hopefully fix this issue:

    1. Clear your browser cache and cookies: Sometimes, old data stored in your browser can interfere with website functionality. Clearing your cache and cookies can help resolve such issues.
    2. Try a different browser or device: To rule out the possibility of the issue being specific to your current browser or device, please try accessing your website from a different browser or device.
    3. Check your payment gateway settings: Ensure that your payment gateways are correctly configured. Double-check your API keys, account credentials, and other settings related to your payment gateways.
    4. Ensure your website is fully updated: Make sure your WordPress.com software, themes, and plugins are all up-to-date. Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues.

If you continue to face the same issue after trying these steps, please provide us with additional information such as screenshots of the error and details of any changes you made recently to your website. This will help us to better understand and resolve the issue.

You can use https://snipboard.io to share screenshots. Just follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL in your reply.

Also, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Once you have that, please paste it inside a Code block in your reply, or use https://pastebin.com/ to paste it and share the link with us.

I appreciate your patience and cooperation in this. I’m eagerly awaiting your response so we can get this sorted out for you.

    Hi @josullivanc

I am having the same issue. Only started in recent days:

From what I understand, you’re experiencing a similar issue with your payment methods on the Checkout page. I realize how crucial it is to have your website functioning correctly, especially when it comes to accepting payments.

I would recommend trying the troubleshooting steps I mentioned in the previous response to @wiap:

    • Clear your browser cache and cookies.
    • Try accessing your website from a different browser or device.
    • Double-check your payment gateway settings.
    • Make sure your WordPress.com software, themes, and plugins are all updated.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, could you please provide us with additional information? Screenshots of the error and details of any recent changes you made to your website would be very helpful.

Please share these details in your ?? own thread so we can assist you more effectively and keep track of the issues separately.

I appreciate your patience and cooperation in this matter. We’re here to help you resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

Hey! We’re keep tracking of this issue and are working on it. For now, you can edit the Checkout page/template and switch up the block for the shortcode.

@wiap the shortcode Checkout was replaced by the Checkout block.
PayPal is compatible with the Checkout block, you can read here how to set it up. https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-paypal-payments/#woocommerce-blocks

But as @assassinateur mentioned the easiest fix is to switch back to the Checkout shortcode.

    1. Go to Appearance > Editor > Templates > Checkout
    2. Remove the Checkout block
    3. Insert the Shortcode block and write inside it [woocommerce_checkout]
    4. Save the template
    5. Things should work as before
