For no reason that I can determine, I can no longer access the wp-admin function of my WordPress installation. I receive the following error message:

A file permissions error has occurred. Please check the permissions on the script and the directory it is in and try again.

All the files in the root of my installation have 777 permissions, except for the index.php file, which has 755.

All the sub-directories also have 777, as do their contents. I suspect this is the nub of the problem, but am not sure what permissions they should have.

I can read my blog OK, and can add comments, but I just can’t add new posts or otherwise administer it!

    Any advice would begratefully received!

    TIA – gddik

Gambled and changed everything to 755 permissions, and it now works OK again…
