I can install this plugin fine from the Plugins page (current 2.2.12 version, but also tried with the previous version), but then I click Activate after install and it says Activated…but the Plugins page listing doesn’t change, it still appears inactive. I have removed it, tried installing via FTP, tried activating from the Plugins list, but nothing has made a difference, and no menu item for it ever shows. I use this plugin on other sites frequently, but never come across this problem before. Any ideas of what else to try?

    Hi,

    Apologies for the delay.

Is your site a standard WordPress installation, or a multisite network?

It’s a standard installation. I ended up disabling the other plugins (only a handful and all popular and standard ones I’ve used in combination elsewhere), activating WP-Optimize (worked), then going through and activating each other one, expecting the conflicting plugin to not work, or to render WP-Optimize inactive, but, they all activated fine and WP-O is active and working. So perhaps the order mattered, but I don’t know.

Possibly your WP site is running very close to its PHP memory limit (not to be confused with server disk space) ? If so, you may see strange/random failures all over the place.
