• I’m suddenly unable to activate any plugin. If I click Activate, I get a successful “Plugin activated.” message, but it doesn’t do anything. I have DecaLog setup to monitor my log files and I can see a trace for the activation, but no error of any kind is logged there either. Where else can I check?

  • Check under Tools > Site Health if you can see any abnormalities there. E.g. also under Info at the very bottom in the section “Filesystem Permissions”.

Also check if you have enough free space in the hostng.

Also a look into the error log of the hosting could be interesting.

If you haven’t found anything so far, check what plugins you have activated. Is there perhaps one that could influence plugins? Deactivate all of them and test if you can install new plugins. A backup before would certainly be useful.

I got it working. I hate that it kept saying that it succeeded. The issue was needing to increase pm.max_children. I had already done that but didn’t think to restart the php-fpm service so it never took effect. Thanks so much for responding so quickly!
