I’ve had 2FA set up for my admin user for 2 years or so. I went to force my other admin to use it too, but I can’t figure out how to do it. From his user profile in the WP backend I click the Activate Grace Period button and am met with “Unable to activate Grace Period”.

I seem to be at a dead end. Can someone help me activate 2FA for this user so he can log in and resume his responsibilities?

    Thank you.

Hi @rosalindmundie, thanks for reaching out.

I think the message “Unable to activate Grace Period”, other than for users without permission to change grace periods, would be refused if their user role has either no grace period set or has a grace period that has already ended in Wordfence > Login Security > Settings.

To reset a grace period, change their user role to “Optional”, hit SAVE, then set it back to “Required” with a new grace period duration before saving again.

Just be careful not to accidentally set and save “Disabled” on any role as this may affect users who’ve already set up 2FA successfully before the grace period lapsed.

    Thanks,
    Peter.
