    Hi,

I was able to install and use Piwik 1.9.2 and WP-Piwik 0.9.7 plugin on one of my WordPress blog. Now, I would like to add another website to use Piwik.

All I did was install WP-Piwik plugin on the second blog. And then “add a new website” under Settings > Websites tab in the Piwik Administration. When I tried to configure the settings for the plugin, the plugin just stalls when I click on save. I set the Piwik URL as https://firstblog.com/piwik and copied the auth token from Piwik’s API.

Note: I did not do a new install of Piwik on the second blog, only the plugin.

I read somewhere that my 2 blogs must be configure into a “WordPress Network.” I do not have this currently setup. Is this why I couldn’t add another website? Is there a workaround?

No, you don’t need a WordPress network. This is only necessary if you like to run two or more blogs with one WordPress installation.

The second blog ist hosted elsewhere? Maybe the first blog’s host does not allow the connection?

    – You can find a test script here: https://peepbo.de/board/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=249#p399 Maybe runnig this will help you to get behind your issue.

    – Sometimes you just have to define your own user agent (just enter sth. like “wp-piwik”).

Btw.: If you use an auth token with write access, you don’t need to add your blog manually in Piwik. But this doen’t matter regarding your issue.

The second blog is hosted on the same server.

How do I use the test script? The forum is in Deutsch.

Define my own user agent? You mean like add a new user? I’ve already tried adding a new user, but to no avail.

    – Just copy this test script to your server & open it using your browser.
    – The user agent is something like an ID WP-Piwik uses to communicate to the Piwik server. You can define a user agent at the WP-Piwik settings page.

There’s actually a run test script in the settings tab of WP-Piwik. Defining the user agent did help. But, finally got it to work by entering both of the following fields in WP-Piwik:

    Piwik URL (REST API)
    Piwik path (PHP API, beta)

Yes, it is the same test script. I thought you wasn’t able to reach this one.

WP-Piwik will use either REST or PHP, so it is enough to choose one of these alternatives.

    But anyway… I’m happy you got WP-Piwik working ??
