• I am unable to add fields to my the standard default form. I am new at WordPress and have I got something wrong? When I click on “Add Field” nothing happens. Also clicking on “Show Details” for a field changes nothing, all is shown by default. I cannot drag and change position either.

Is there some config I have not done?

    Thanks

  • Hi jrbacon can you try something. Can you deactivate all your other plugins and only leave this one and try an add another field. If that does not work can you try a WordPress default theme like Twenty Fourteen and see if you can add a field.

If none of the above works can you find out how much memory you have allocated to your website? You can also check the following URL in regards to the memory.

    Thank you

I too am having this problem. I was previously using an old version of FS Secure Contact without any problems at all, however when I upgraded to version 4 – I am limited by the number of fields. I have checked the PHP and can confirm that max_input_vars = 1000 memory limit is 90M.

My form currently has 60 fields, and it will not allow me to add any more. I need another 15 or 20 fields.

I have tried deactivating all plugins without success. Would appreciate any assistance you can give

Further to this, I am able to import correctly from old version 3.xx form, however as soon as I try to modify the imported form and fix up some formatting, it removes all the fields from 60 onwards.

Hi @weyba please create a support ticket. @mike Challis will investigate this further.

    Kind regards

I have the exact same problem. I had this a year ago and changed max_input_vars = 1000 to 3000. It’s worked for the last year but now it’s started again. It wouldn’t save any changes – then after several more tries it seemed to have saved but the field doesn’t appear on the website.

Hi @namaste364 do you know if your host has made changes to the server?

I don’t think so. I’m on a VPS hosting account so I should have good resources.
I just added define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘128M’); to the wp-config file, but this didn’t help.

Hi @namaste364 try the following URL.

Also try to increase your memory to 256M.

    Thanks, mbrsolution

    I’ve increased it to 256M.
The weird thing is I manage to save the extra field I wanted after trying several times. To test it again I added a : at the end of the description to see what would happen. The first time it saved it but it won’t save again.

I have a lot of fields, which is what we need. Is there a limit to the number of fields?

    Many thanks for your help.

Hi, as far as I know there is no limit except what your server settings limits you too. If you followed all the instructions above from the URL I provided then there has to be something else limiting adding extra fields.

Try and disable all your plugins except this one and see if you can add more fields. If that does not work try changing the theme and see if you can add more fields.

Let me know how you go.

    Regards
