Unable to add Gift Card to cart – “Please select some product options…”

    The plugin was working fine, but it now isn’t possible to add the gift card product to the cart.

    From the front end the user sees the “Add to basket” button greyed-out and receives the popup “Please select some product options before adding this product to your basket.”

    Other than the gift card values, there are no product options / variations to choose from for this product, and the recipient email / message fields are missing.

    We have tried enabling the “Apply fix for missing fields” option.

    We have tried deleting and regenerating the product and have also tried the code snippet in this support thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/products-not-adding-2/

    We have managed to solve this issue.

    The cause was a filter overridden through functions.php called ‘woocommerce_format_dimensions’ which we were using to add some formatting to the shipping dimensions on products.

    It isn’t obvious to us why this was affecting the gift card variable product, but removing it solved our problem.

    Closing the support issue but leaving it here in case it helps somebody else.
