Unable to add or duplicate product in Woocommerce

This unusual behavior is likely due to a conflict with plugins or the theme. Other sites using WooCommerce haven’t reported this behavior after updating to WordPress 5.9.

It is great that you already started taking some troubleshooting steps. I would recommend doing the full conflict test properly, just to be thorough. It involves switching to a default WP theme like Twenty Twenty-One or Storefront and deactivating all plugins except for WooCommerce then checking if the issue persists. If it doesn’t, the theme and plugins are reactivated, one by one, checking which one causes the issue to reappear. If nothing comes out of the conflict test, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Yes I have already done that, and I have just done it again – activated the theme Storefront, and disabled all plugins apart from Woocommerce – still having the same problem, when I click duplicate on a product it takes me to the POST page, and no product is duplicated. Hi I’ve tried clearing browser cache before and after disabling plugins and using Storefront theme – still no luck. I’ve even tried in Safari. I normally use Chrome. Any ideas? Help!

Hi, I’ve just restored a backup from a few days ago and it’s now all good. Woocommerce version 6.1.1 installed. I then updated to Woocommerce 6.2.0 and now experiencing the same problem – cannot duplicate or create new products. In fact, I cannot create a new page etc either.

You could spin up a live replica of your site, a staging site, where you could check the issue further without affecting the production site.

Some hosts offer Staging sites, but if you don’t have such a feature, you can create one with the WP Staging plugin.

On your staging site please enable debug logging in WordPress. Here’s more information on how to do it:

After that, update WooCommerce and check if an error is logged in the debug.log file that could give you some indications on what may be causing this issue.
