Unable to add to gallery

The site in question is about a year old and used to work, but since upgrading to wordpress 3.9.2 and using Catablog 1.6.5 it is not possible to add items to the galleries.

Did you by any chance upgrade other plugins and theme?

something weird had happened I think during a host migration and broken the site – for some reason the uploads folder had been changed to /tmp and it had broken the catablog completely, so I have a suspicion that somewhere in the database there is a gallery reference to the wrong place – but I look in the database and don’t see any specific catablog tables, so I am confused as to where to look to fix things.

If I delete catablog completely can I easily get the items back? because there’s about 250 items and I don’t see a table to export.

I did all but the last one delete all data. It didn’t help. I’ll have to do a complete reinstall of everything I think and import the data from the posts table. I’m sure I have a corrupted database at the heart of the problem.
