I am attempting to change my base directory from /donations/ to literally anything else. I managed to find https://givewp.com/documentation/developers/give-php-constants/ which doesn’t seem to work when I’ve added it to wp-config.php in the base folder of my site. I’m using a slightly older version, 2.0.6, as I’ve customized the heck out of the PHP files to rename donations to another term so I’m a bit skittish about starting all over again if I upgrade. Is the version I’m on too old to support this override or is there something else I should review to ensure I didn’t overlook anything? Thank you!

  • Hi there,

This is likely due to the version number you’re running with Give.

If these customizations have been made to the core Give plugin files, it’s likely they will be erased if you update the plugin.

It’s a best practice to always stay up to date with the latest version of Give, and if you need to make customizations we recommend making a separate functionality plugin. Here is a link to an article on our site that covers this:
    https://givewp.com/documentation/resources/adding-custom-functions-to-your-wordpress-website/

This will keep your changes from being overwritten when you update Give, and you can stay up to date with the latest functionality and bug fixes.

    Hi there,

I’m going to mark this ticket as resolved, but if there is anything else you need don’t hesitate to reach out.

    Thanks.
