• Hi everybody!

I created my own theme. I always used the theme-editor shipped with wordpress. I moved my wordpress installation from hosted webspace to a virtual server. Since then the error

“Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP…”

occurs. Actual testet versions 5.2.x and 5.3.x Both versions have the same problem. I also cannot edit a plugin written by my own.

When migrating the site i changed not a single file. I reseted the permissions to 755 on the themes-directory for being sure that this is not the problem. I deactivated security and caching to exclude this error-source.

Please, I need help with this topic. This “feature” is turning me mad. Thanks.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Maybe it’s caused by a plugin or server configuration. You could try disable all plugins and then re-enable them, or update your files using FTP/SFTP.

I know i can use SFTP. But this is not the solution! I cannot use this from “everywhere”.

I need a way to disable this feature. WordPress cannot implement such a feature without giving an oportunity to disable this ****

I thought about server configuration but i have no idea where to look. php.ini and wp-config.php were copied 1:1 without any changes. Even .htaccess were copied 1:1.

    Where take an deeper look?

You probably should have changed your WP-config.php file to reflect the changes possibly needed by your new host… maybe not.

If you don’t wish to use FTP then I have no idea what to tell you. If you have shell access to your web host you might use that to check plugins and create temporary changes for testing purposes.

It might be a good idea to ask your host for some help.
