Instagram has been suffering outages over the weekend (https://downdetector.com/status/instagram) so my first suggestion would be to be patient and try again once the site stabilises.

If your still seeing issues after another 24 hours then please post your username here and I will check your profile page make sure it is publicly accessible and looks as I expect to (no new HTML/JS changes on profiles).

I have just checked my local copy and found it to be working so fingers crossed it is just glitches at the Instagram end.

As of today I’m still seeing the issue. Which username do you need, our Instagram?

    Thanks for the support!

I have just tested this in my local copy and it is working as expected with your username:

My recommendation would be to try a different username (e.g. cocacola) and see if that works. If it doesn’t it seems possible that your server has having trouble making remote connections. A plugin like query monitor: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/query-monitor/ will help you diagnose issues like this.

Thanks! I tried a different username and that didn’t work either.

I’ve installed the query plug-in but not sure how to use it? I don’t see a menu option for it?

You will see a new menu in your WordPress admin bar at the top of the screen. If you see it go red or orange then click it and it will take you to a page of debug information. If you see anything there relating to Instagram then post it back.

OK I see it now. I don’t see anything that is red or orange. And I wasn’t able to identify a specific debug table in all of the date.

At the very bottom of the page in the PHP summary, I see that there is one “display error,” maybe that is it.

Is there a specific section of the date I should look to?

If you are not seeing any errors then I have no idea what it could be.

After clicking on the query monitor button you will be able to search the page (ctrl + s or cmd + s on a mac) for the word ‘Instagram’. If there is nothing there then I would contact your host and ask them to check to see if your server can talk to Instagram.

Our of interest… who do you host with?

OK, not seeing anything with IG in there. I’ll contact the host.

    Hosting with SiteGround.

Thanks again for the support, I appreciate it!

    Response from my host:

“Unfortunately some of our Server IP addresses are blocked in Instagram for some reason. This is a known issue and we are in touch with Instagram to resolve it as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance for the understanding.”

    Hopefully this is resolved soon!!!

That would explain it then. Good news they are aware of it but unfortunate for anyone using this plugin with them.

I have had a few other reports similar to this over the weekend so its quite possible they are experiencing similar host issues.

    Thanks for letting me know.
