  • Hi Jasonla,

Thanks for hopping in the forum! The plugin requires a connection to the internet to connect with MailChimp and login. So it couldn’t be used in a local development environment. Because of that we actually have a special development mode that you can enable to test on your local machine. This page explains setting up and using the development mode: https://connect.mailchimp.com/how-to/90

Let us know if you have any other questions!

    Hi,
I also have a connection problem, but the site is not in a local development environment. The error message says that the file or directory was not found.

So when I click on “Connect to MailChimp,” I get a popup window with the OAuth login from MailChimp. After I enter my credentials and press “Log In,” I get this different error:

    error!

It looks like the plugin is not able to redirect to https://sopresto.socialize-this.com/mailchimp/confirm

    Thank you!

    Hey Jblais,

In order to really help out with that, we may need a bit information. What web host are you using? Do you see the same issue if you try to initiate the connection while using a different internet connection? That could help determine whether this is a local network resolution issue or one going from your server to the sopresto.socialize-this.com address.

The most likely cause of this issue is the web host blocking outgoing traffic from the server to that domain, whether as part of a blanket block on most outgoing traffic or some particular blacklist. Enabling outgoing traffic to that domain should help. If you can give that a shot on your server then get back to us, that’d be great.

    Thanks,
    Gabe

    Hi Gabe,

thanks for the answer. It gave us some clues where to look.

I’ll tell you if we got it work. The web site is still on development anyway.

    Best regards.

    Jon
