Tried to set up the plugin on a productive install since a few hours but I got stuck immediately at the first step, connecting the website to WordPress.com. I already have a WordPress.com account but, no matter what, the site wouldn’t connect. Tried to connect via jetpack, installed the plugin, but it would not connect as well. Deleted and deactivated all cache, deleted and reinstalled Jetpack, no success.

Ran the jetpack debugger and the response was “XML-RPC is not responding correctly ( 404 )“. the debugger suggests me to test myself, but what I receive is a 301 response, not a 404, and this could make sense because the WordPress install is in a subdirectory. I have another website connected to WordPress.com, which is in a subdir, but I have no issues. What else could I try?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello @nustefa,

I’m sorry to hear you had a bad experience during setup.

The XML-RPC is a protocol that numerous Jetpack services depend on to function properly. I recommend contacting your hosting provider to determine whether they have disabled it or imposed a limit on the number of requests per second.

If that didn’t help, then feel to email us at WooCommerce.com > MY profile > Support so we can look further into this.

Make sure to include a link to this thread so we know what has been done already.

    Hope this helps!
