I am starting to feel like I am losing my mind. I was working on a test site where I was using full width 100% cover blocks. I went back to play around and now when I add a 100% width cover block, it only displays around 90% width. I tried disabling plugins, different versions of WP through 6.0 RC3, and reinstalling the theme. I tested on local WP environment on my computer and internet hosts. I tested with several different PHP versions. I did a clean install of WP 5.93 with no success.

The weird thing is that if I copy one of the full-width 100% cover block I made when it was working, it displays at 100%. I made a test page where I created a new 100% width cover block and below it I pasted one of the cover blocks I has previously created. In the list view and settings, both cover block are identical. Yet the old one displays 100% while the new one doesn’t. I even went through all of the full width, full site editing thems listed to see if they had the same problem. Out of the nine I tried, only four would display the test page with both cover blocks full width. They are emulsion, Bricksy, Grigora Blocks, and Block Builder.

Does anybody have any ideas? Are you seeing the same thing?

Heya, one thing I noticed is that your first cover block is missing the alignfull class. I’m not sure why it’s missing, but when I add the class to the block in the browser inspector, the block becomes full-width, as you see here:

As a workaround, could you try adding the class alignfull in the Advanced area on the block, like this:

    Hi Kathryn,

Thanks for taking the time to take a look. Adding class alignfull does indeed work. At least I now have a workaround. I wonder why it stopped working in the first place.

    Thanks again,

It’s definitely odd, and I haven’t been able to replicate it yet.

Is it only the cover block that’s doing this, or other blocks too?

I am an idiot. For some reason, I couldn’t see the full-width button. It was right there in front of me. Thanks for your help.

Oh, I’m glad it was just that, thanks for letting me know! I’ll mark this as resolved.
