    Hi,

Firstly, thank you for a really great plugin!

I’ve previously successfully created content blocks and they are still all working fine. However I am now unable to create a new content block. When I click “Publish” I get a the following message:
“Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again.”

When I click on the “Please try again” link I am taken to a new/empty “Add New Global Block” screen. If I then go to view All Global Content Blocks” I can see the block name listed and is Published. However columns “Content”, “Position” and “Location” are containing text “Error”.

I can’t pinpoint a specific event that may have triggered this as there was a long gap since I last created a block. Some major changes was site URL change to www, moving hosting company (cpanel copy and restore), additional plugins and I had also been hacked.

From google search I see that this could be any one of a number of issues. But I’m only having this issue with Blox. Would you be able to assist in trying to determine what Blox is not happy about? What information or logs do you need?

What I have tried so far is:
    -Disable cache plugin
    -Regenerate new salt keys
-Try using different browser with cache completely cleared.

    Thank you

    Regards,
    Sean

    Hi liujunjie688,

Based on the changes that were made, my guess is that the plugin files are corrupted or are not complete, perhaps due to the copy and restore. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin from the WP plugin repository? That way we will know you at least have a clean copy. Give that a try, and if it is still not working, we can try other ideas.

    Thanks,
    Nick

    Thanks Nick for quick response.

If I uninstall/reinstall Blox, then what about my existing Content Blocks? Is there a way to save the configuration and re-apply? Or will I need to document the blocks and recreate them after reinstall?

    Hi,

I was able to get a staging site running. I’ve found error occurs only when plugin “AdSense Integration WP QUADS PRO” is Active.

As a workaround it’s likely possible that I could temporarily deactivate “AdSense Integration WP QUADS PRO”, make my Blox changes, then re-activate WP QUADS PRO. Seems OK on staging but I’ve not yet confirmed this on live site.

Note the WP QUADS PRO plugin is the paid addition to the free WP QUADS plugin. That is, WP QUADS needs to remain installed then WP QUADS PRO is installed separately. There is no issue with just the free WP QUADS plugin active.

Are you interested in investigating further?

    Hi Sean,

As I don’t have the paid add-on, I would reach out to their support and request they look into this since Blox Lite is a free plugin they will be able to test. If they have any suggestions on changes that need to be made to Blox, I am happy to look at them.

    Best,
    Nick

I just confirmed no issues if I temp deactivate WP QUADS PRO then make Blox update. I don’t update Blox often so I’ll probably leave as is. If I do follow up with WP QUADS then I’ll let you know the result.

    Thank you

    Regards,
    Sean
