Unable to Create New Gallery from “ADD GALLERY / IMAGES” page

    I can no longer create a new gallery from the “ADD GALLERY / IMAGES” page. When I select the “Create New Gallery” option and give it a name, the “Create & Select” button does not do anything. I can get around the problem by adding a new gallery in “MANAGE GALLERIES”.

    Any suggestions?

    NextGEN Gallery Version 3.23
    WordPress 5.9.1 running Atreus theme.
    PHP version: 7.2.18.

    Hi @abqdanj,

    Could you please try updating to a newer PHP version then check again to see if that’ll change anything? Also, it may worth verifying for a conflict on the site:

    1) Temporarily deactivate all your plugins except NextGen Gallery.
    2) Is the problem solved? Then, it was caused by one of your plugins. Please check one by one and find the one causing the problem.
    3) If the problem is not solved with the deactivation of the plugins, try changing to a standard WordPress theme, it could conflict with your current theme.

    Thank you for the quick response! It was a conflict with the theme, which has been replaced.

    When I create a new gallery from “ADD GALLERY / IMAGES” page, the gallery gets created and is also visible in the cPanel.

    When I try uploading photos to the gallery, none of them get uploaded and I get the error message (in the lower right corner of the gallery interface):

    No images were uploaded successfully.
    Image photo-01.jpg failed to upload: There was a problem uploading the file.

    Troubleshooting Checklist:
    1) The folder wp-content\gallery has 755 permission
    2) The folder for the gallery is successfully created
    3) Temporarily deactivated all plugins except NextGen Gallery

    Setup details:
    NextGEN Gallery Version 3.24
    WordPress 5.9.2 running Registered Avada theme 7.6.1
    PHP version: 8.0 (ea-php80) at InMotion Hosting

    Tried the same on other setup with Vantage theme, it works alright.

    Could it be a theme compatibility problem? It had been working fine all this time.

    Any fixes?
