This thread is referring to the issue of unable to create new gallery or unable to successfully upload images to gallery as of v1.9.10/v1.9.11Beta of NextGEN Gallery & WordPress v3.5.x . This thread is NOT referring to the ‘Page Refreshes/URI Too Large‘ error.

If you are experiencing this error, please detail the below needed information + temp. login information in a Bug Report to us here. Thanks!

    – WordPress up to date?
    – NextGEN up to date? (Did this error begin as of v1.9.10 or v1.9.11Beta?)

(please confirm the following, with your server host tech) :
    – MySQL up to date (5.2.4)?
    – PHP up to date (5.0)?
    – The mod_rewrite Apache module activated?
    – PHP Safe Mode OFF?

and if you’re willing to share:
    – Who are you hosted with?
    – What theme are you running?
    – Which plugins do you have installed and activated?
    – Does this error still occur if you switch your theme to the WP default, and deactivate all plugins except NextGEN Gallery? (*be sure to clear your browser cache and reload your site after deactivating)

We will likely have a fix for this in our next upgrade, but to be sure we do – we’ll need as much information as possible from those of you who are experiencing this bug.

*Please do not post unrelated issues in this thread. This thread is specifically for the issue of being unable to create new gallery or upload images to gallery as of v1.9.10 upgrade/v1.9.11Beta & WP 3.5.x.

    Thanks!

  • Guys, 1.9.8 works. You can svn checkout here: https://plugins.svn.www.ads-software.com/nextgen-gallery/tags/1.9.8/

If you all could please submit this information (answers to our list of questions in original post) to us + let us know which version of NextGEN Gallery you upgraded from or if this was a fresh install of the plugin, in a bug report here. Please also include temporary login information so we can check your site and database tables (we are unable to replicate this error on our end, this is why we ask – please do not post those login details here in the forum).

Thanks! The sooner we are able to gather information of what is causing this to happen, the sooner we can provide a solution in the next upgrade! ??

I supplied you all the information i could on my server, its hosted at pair.com. 1 thing i did notice when i did the initial upgrade to 1.9.10, it DID NOT ask me to upgrade the db, when i installed 1.9.8 i DID ask me to do a database upgrade.

Hell no im not gonna let you poke around a live site, but if you give me an Email, Dropbox, FTP or SSH login, i can pack up the current site with database and send it to you, i can see if i can find an old broken version also. That should help

I am having this problem on my other sites where I have updated WP, updated NGG, and use different themes and plugins.

So… I created a new WPMU install on a new sub-domain and downloaded/activated new NGG plugin. No other themes, no other plugins… and it works fine. I then created a new site (from the MU install) and had no problems creating galleries and uploading files, even drag n drop works. (Was having problems with that too on the other sites.)

I’ll start adding plugins and themes and see what happens.

Add new gallery/uploading new images in WPMU site still working good with these plugins and themes active/tested.

    Working:
    NextGEN Gallery v1.9.10
    Justified Image Grid v1.4.4
    LayerSlider WP v3.6.0
    WPBakery Visual Composer v3.5

    Twenty Twelve v1.1
    Responsive v1.8.9.3
    Origami v1.4.4

I’ve not changed ANY settings in NGG.

I was using Catalyst/Dynamik when I had problems, anyone else using this framework and having problems? -Chris

Give me an email address and I’ll add you as an admin user on the site with issues.

Hi not sure if this is helpful but I just had a similar problem (unable to upload images after upgrade to WordPress 3.5.1). Turned out I’d deregistered the default jquery-ui script in admin and replaced with my own. Commented that out to go back to the default and everything worked fine.

Best of luck sorting this issue out.

This issue should be resolved in our most recent upgrade v1.9.11 now available for download and install!

The issue still exists after the update over on this side. All other plugins are disabled. I guess I’ll have to submit a bug report with our login info.

@pcmdinc – Yes, please provide as much information in your bug report as possible + login information, it will greatly help our developers.

    Thanks!

I’m having this issue as well, although I am new to this plugin so perhaps it’s my issue. When I try to add a new gallery it appears to accept it, but never shows up in my list of galleries.

If I go to import a picture from a directory I see directories listed with the name I gave my new gallery, so something was created, it just doesn’t appear in my list.

    Hello,

I just did the update to your current version 1.9.12 with WordPress 3.5.1 and just noticed the problem of not being able to create any new galleries.

I also added a bug report.

@dvweiser – would you mind upgrading to v1.9.12 and see if that resolves the issue you’re experiencing? You might also check with your server host tech support that you have the proper permissions set to your /wp-content directory of 755.

@thowi – Thank you for sending in your Bug Report. As I mentioned to DvWeiser, you might check in with your server host tech support that you have the proper permissions set to your /wp-content directory of 755 and have them confirm that PHP Safe Mode is turned OFF.

    Hi photocrati.
Yes, permissions are correct and safe mode is off. Just checked both.

    Hello Photocrati team

Well, whatever you did in 1.9.12 sure worked for our site, thirdottawa.com. All is now functioning. Galleries uploaded during the issue did not regenerate thumbnails so we deleted and re-uploaded and all is functioning. Thanks for a great tool and a quick response to the issue – nicely done!
