This thread is referring to the issue of unable to create new gallery or unable to successfully upload images to gallery as of v1.9.10/v1.9.11Beta of NextGEN Gallery & WordPress v3.5.x . This thread is NOT referring to the ‘Page Refreshes/URI Too Large‘ error.

If you are experiencing this error, please detail the below needed information + temp. login information in a Bug Report to us here. Thanks!

    – WordPress up to date?
    – NextGEN up to date? (Did this error begin as of v1.9.10 or v1.9.11Beta?)

(please confirm the following, with your server host tech) :
    – MySQL up to date (5.2.4)?
    – PHP up to date (5.0)?
    – The mod_rewrite Apache module activated?
    – PHP Safe Mode OFF?

and if you’re willing to share:
    – Who are you hosted with?
    – What theme are you running?
    – Which plugins do you have installed and activated?
    – Does this error still occur if you switch your theme to the WP default, and deactivate all plugins except NextGEN Gallery? (*be sure to clear your browser cache and reload your site after deactivating)

We will likely have a fix for this in our next upgrade, but to be sure we do – we’ll need as much information as possible from those of you who are experiencing this bug.

*Please do not post unrelated issues in this thread. This thread is specifically for the issue of being unable to create new gallery or upload images to gallery as of v1.9.10 upgrade/v1.9.11Beta & WP 3.5.x.

    Thanks!

Thank you for letting us know that all is working well now for you @welchtima, using v1.9.12!

For everyone who is still experiencing this issue, please be sure to submit a bug report to us, with as much information as possible (from our original post), including what version of NextGEN Gallery that you upgraded from. If you have already submitted a bug report, please be patient, we’re looking into this error and will provide a solution where possible, as soon as we can.

The problem appears to occur for those that have upgraded to 1.9.11 or later from a version of NextGEN Gallery earlier than 1.9.3, which had a slightly different database schema.

After upgrading, try deactivating the plugin and then reactivating. Although that should be a safe operation, I’d recommend creating a database backup before attempting this.

    Cheers,

The images are not uploading also after updating to the newer version 1.9.12 I cannot vote on old photos. Any idea how I can fix this?

@dco22 – Have you tried deactivating and then reactivating the NextGEN Gallery plugin? Which version of NextGEN did you have installed before you upgraded?

Having the “0 picture(s) successfully added [Edit gallery” when trying to upload files to the gallery.

What I can tell you is that I uploaded files succesfully this morning on 1.9.11. I then noticed there were 3 plugin updates.

    I updated the following plugins:
    Add link to Facebook
    BulletProof Security
    Nextgen Gallery

Right after doing those three updates I can no longer upload files.

*When I log into the server, I can see the files are there… but I notice the thumbnails are not being created.

**Also when I delete a gallery/picture it shows deleted in Nextgen but still stays on the server.

***I’ve tested deactivating plugins to no avail, as well as deactivating and reactivating.

    I’m running WordPress 3.5.1.

I figured I’d follow up as I’ve fixed my issue of “0 picture(s) successfully added”.

I logged into the database and selected the following:
    wp_ngg_album
    wp_ngg_gallery
    wp_ngg_pictures

    and then repaired those tables.

    The outcome:

    wp_ngg_pictures|repair | warning | Number of rows changed from 303 to 323

After this everything appears to be working as it should.

@jeebus13 – I did notice you mentioned v1.9.11, we’re on v1.9.12, so you might also try updating the plugin to the current version as well. ??

Sorry if my wording was off… I was on 1.9.11 and it worked… I updated to 1.9.12 yesterday morning and it did not work after the upgrade.

    Dear Photocrati,

I’m also having the “0 picture(s) successfully added” issue, along with the gallery not created.
I’m having this issue since 1.9.10. Now I’m on 1.9.12, but still no results. WP is the latest available.
I also tried following jeebus13 solution launching the REPAIR TABLE command to the 3 mentioned tables.
    I get the following message:
#1142 – INSERT command denied to user ‘alessand26537’@’217.64.195.219’ for table ‘ale_ngg_album’

but I have just little skills on mySQL and I don’t know how to solve this.
Is there anything else I can try?
    Thank you very much.

@jeebus13 & @super.sonicangre , could you both deactivate all plugins (including NextGEN Gallery) and reactivate only NextGEN Gallery and let us know if that helps? Deactivating and reactivating the plugin should help refresh the database tables, and deactivating the other plugins should help eliminate any possible interference with the plugin while you’re testing. You might also temporarily switch your Theme to WordPress default.

*Side note, make sure WordPress is up to date (v3.5.1)as well.

@photocrati As mentioned, repairing the NGG database tables fixed my issue. I just posted for others to try and to maybe help in the solution.

I probably found my issue. I found that the DB space allocated for my site was exhausted. I just expanded, but my host is saying that it will take up to 24 hours to gain the writing privileges on the DB.

Will update as soon as I get writing privilegs on the mySQL DB
    Thanks.

    super.sonicangre

    (@supersonicangre)

    Update:

I confirm it wasn’t a problem related to your plugin. Once DB writing privileges have been fixed the plugin has started to work perfectly.

    Sorry and thanks anyway!

    (@derekostler)

Yes I did restart the plugin and also updated to the newest wordpress too. Any other ideas?
