This thread is referring to the issue of unable to create new gallery or unable to successfully upload images to gallery as of v1.9.10/v1.9.11Beta of NextGEN Gallery & WordPress v3.5.x . This thread is NOT referring to the ‘Page Refreshes/URI Too Large‘ error.

If you are experiencing this error, please detail the below needed information + temp. login information in a Bug Report to us here. Thanks!

    – WordPress up to date?
    – NextGEN up to date? (Did this error begin as of v1.9.10 or v1.9.11Beta?)

(please confirm the following, with your server host tech) :
    – MySQL up to date (5.2.4)?
    – PHP up to date (5.0)?
    – The mod_rewrite Apache module activated?
    – PHP Safe Mode OFF?

and if you’re willing to share:
    – Who are you hosted with?
    – What theme are you running?
    – Which plugins do you have installed and activated?
    – Does this error still occur if you switch your theme to the WP default, and deactivate all plugins except NextGEN Gallery? (*be sure to clear your browser cache and reload your site after deactivating)

We will likely have a fix for this in our next upgrade, but to be sure we do – we’ll need as much information as possible from those of you who are experiencing this bug.

*Please do not post unrelated issues in this thread. This thread is specifically for the issue of being unable to create new gallery or upload images to gallery as of v1.9.10 upgrade/v1.9.11Beta & WP 3.5.x.

    Thanks!

I think I could maybe figure the voting out, but I have no idea at all why photos are not uploading……

I go the voting to work but now it says “There was a problem saving your vote, please try again in a few moments” and the images are still not uploading then randomly they will then they will not etc.

@dco22 – You will need to contact the developer of the voting plugin – as its functionality is separate from our plugins functionality.

I’m having this same issue, nothing works. Already tried everything listed, installed latest update to both WP & the plugin. Very frustrating!!! I’m a photographer and now I can’t update any of my galleries which is killing my business.

I am having the same issue, I posted elsewhere on wordpress forum so I won’t repeat it here but could it be possible to read my other post. https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/multi-site-network-and-ngg-gallery

@dpphoto – Please confirm you have deactivated all plugins (including NextGEN Gallery), then reactivate NextGEN Gallery only. Let us know if that helps. If you could also please provide answers to the following:

    – WordPress up to date?
    – NextGEN up to date?
    – What version of NextGEN Gallery did you upgrade from? (i.e. I had 1.9.8, then upgraded to 1.9.12)

(please confirm the following, with your server host tech) :
    – MySQL up to date (at least 5.2.4)?
    – PHP up to date (at least 5.0)?
    – The mod_rewrite Apache module activated?
    – PHP Safe Mode OFF?

Additional information that will help us find a solution:
    – Who are you hosted with?
    – What theme are you running?
    – Which plugins do you have installed and activated?
    – Does this error still occur if you switch your theme to the WP default, and deactivate all plugins except NextGEN Gallery? (*be sure to clear your browser cache and reload your site after deactivating)

@partisan1991 – Try deactivating all plugins (including NextGEN) and then reactivate NextGEN Gallery only. Clear your browser cache and reload your site, and try uploading images once more. Let us know if that helps. You might also try temporarily switching to WP Default Theme.

I’ve tried all the steps throughout this thread and still can’t upload images to a gallery. Any recommendations?

I’ve just upgraded from to WP3.5.1 and NGG 1.9.12. The gallery still works on the site, but I cannot use any of the admin functions. Any link I click from Gallery in the WordPress dashboard, like to add a new gallery, reset, doesn’t matter. They all give a 404 Page Not Found.

One example is if I click the Manage Gallery link, it tries to load this:

    https://thecakehousespain.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=nggallery-manage-gallery&skipjs[0]=https://thecakehousespain.com/wp-content/themes/Magdalena/includes/js/editor_plugin.js?ver=3.5.1

I then get a Page Not Found 404.

    Any ideas?

I turn SAFE_MODE ON verify if that was the problem but doesnt was.
    Wordpress Version 3.5.1
Nextgen gallery work fine, but at the moment to create a new gallery, it doesn create in the database.
Im still in the ID #49 on the table galleries.

At the moment to add images to a exist gallery, nextgen said “0 pictures added” or something like that.

In strict rigor, it just upload the picture but not do the work to transform it in a thumbnail.
On the folder are jsut images but in the Thumb folder inside on the folder of the gallery are no one thumb image.

I tried to downgrade to ohter versions of nextgen gallery (1.9.10, 1.9.7 and 1.9.6) and nothing, same error.
    Maybe it could be WordPress.

Also cannot create a new gallery but I get a 403 forbidden message.

    Anyone else seeing that?

It looks like I’m going to have to change to a different gallery plugin. Client is going mad and I can’t find any solution to this.

I backup everything, installed all again, part of part… all Work OK.
But at the moment to restore the Database of wp_ngg_gallery, gave me the same problem, not store the new gallery into the database wp_ngg_gallery.

So, i saw the structure, and read the restore sql file, and i found a big error.
My database restore file structure in the table wp_ngg_gallery has 8 rows for registry and the wp_ngg_gallery brand new installed from point 0, has 9….GID, NAME, SLUG, PATH,….

So…in conlcusion….SLUG is the part missing on the database table structure of wp_ngg_gallery to work.

I jusst create a row between NAME and PATH named SLUG….
    varchar(255) utf8_general_ci No no

This is the code to create it.

CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS wp_ngg_gallery (
    gid bigint(20) NOT NULL auto_increment,
    name varchar(255) NOT NULL,
    slug varchar(255) NOT NULL,
    path mediumtext,
    title mediumtext,
    galdesc mediumtext,
pageid bigint(20) NOT NULL default ‘0’,
previewpic bigint(20) NOT NULL default ‘0’,
author bigint(20) NOT NULL default ‘0’,
    PRIMARY KEY (gid)
    ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 AUTO_INCREMENT=50 ;

So, with that will work all again OK.

Im hoping that with this….all yours problems gone.
Sorry for my english, im from chile and i speak spanish, but for this thing are no other language than PHP and MYSQL.

    lol-.
