This thread is referring to the issue of unable to create new gallery or unable to successfully upload images to gallery as of v1.9.10/v1.9.11Beta of NextGEN Gallery & WordPress v3.5.x . This thread is NOT referring to the ‘Page Refreshes/URI Too Large‘ error.

If you are experiencing this error, please detail the below needed information + temp. login information in a Bug Report to us here. Thanks!

    – WordPress up to date?
    – NextGEN up to date? (Did this error begin as of v1.9.10 or v1.9.11Beta?)

(please confirm the following, with your server host tech) :
    – MySQL up to date (5.2.4)?
    – PHP up to date (5.0)?
    – The mod_rewrite Apache module activated?
    – PHP Safe Mode OFF?

and if you’re willing to share:
    – Who are you hosted with?
    – What theme are you running?
    – Which plugins do you have installed and activated?
    – Does this error still occur if you switch your theme to the WP default, and deactivate all plugins except NextGEN Gallery? (*be sure to clear your browser cache and reload your site after deactivating)

We will likely have a fix for this in our next upgrade, but to be sure we do – we’ll need as much information as possible from those of you who are experiencing this bug.

*Please do not post unrelated issues in this thread. This thread is specifically for the issue of being unable to create new gallery or upload images to gallery as of v1.9.10 upgrade/v1.9.11Beta & WP 3.5.x.

    Thanks!

I suggest to ask also if the user upgrade from a older NGG version or if this happended just on a fresh installation.

    theme switch no effect
    new install of Next Gen

add new gallery creates folder on server but nthing show in manage gallery

I would also like to chime in and say that one of my clients is also having issues.

    WordPress 3.5.1
    NextGen 1.9.10
    Photocrati SuperTheme version 2.0
    I disabled all other plugins
    Existing Galleries/WordPress site

I can confirm that adding new galleries creates a folder on the server but does nothing else. I can also tell you that any changes made to any gallery information don’t save. It will say “Update successful” but won’t save any changes. Also, I cannot add new images. I get this: “0 picture(s) successfully added.” However, I can add images using the default media manager in WordPress.

@alex Rabe , Thank you, good question!

@blogking2 & @pcmdinc – Please submit a bug report with answers to the questions we listed in original post + let us know which version of NextGEN Gallery you upgraded from or if this was a fresh install of the plugin.

@pcmdinc – Yes, that will work. We will also likely need FTP login info and access to your MySQL database to check the plugins database tables. Please submit this information through our Bug Report Form

    Thank you!

    +1
Cant tell you server specs as its shared hosting, hosted on pair.com, but same exact behavior. Creates folder but does not create a db entry for gallery

    I have installed:

    All in One SEO Pack
    Attachments
    Contact Form 7
    Google Analytics for WordPress
    Google XML Sitemaps
    NextGEN Gallery ??
    Simple 301 Redirects
    Wp-Testimonials

    Custom Theme

Just upgraded to 3.51 and NG 1.9.10

Havent been able to create a gallery since

I should add that I’m using Dreamhost

Does anyone know the latest version that will work?

Yes can we download an earlier version that works while you are working on bug-fixing this?

    Hi Photocrati

Experiencing issues with Gallery and uploads as well. I deactivated the Flash based upload in Add Gallery / Images, and this enabled me to upload images into a newly created Gallery. However:

    – Thumbnails are not created in the Dashboard or within a post (see the behaviour on our site at the bottom of this post https://thirdottawa.com/klondike-derby-2013-2/

    – Older Galleries and Albums continue to function properly. This ONLY occurs with new Galleries

    – Cannot drag-and-drop a Gallery into an Album on the Album page of the plugin tool

    – Linking to the Gallery from a post causes the gallery to reindex to the top of the page every time I try to advance an image, so have to scroll down the page to see the image

    – WordPress : 3.5
    – NextGEN up to date? v1.9.10, issue began at upgrade from older version

    – thirdottawa.com
    – MySQL 5.1.66-cll
    – PHP 5.3.16
    – Apache 2.2.22
    – The mod_rewrite Apache module activated? uncertain but unchanged from previous NextGEN version
    – PHP Safe Mode OFF? uncertain but unchanged from previous NextGEN version

and if you’re willing to share:
    – Who are you hosted with? fastwebsites.com
    – What theme are you running? Admired
    – Which plugins do you have installed and activated?
    — Akismet 2.5.7
    — Category Shortcode 1.3
    — Geotag 2.1
    — NextGen Gallery 1.9.10
    — TinyMCE Advanced 3.5.8
    — User Role Editor 3.9

Just put in a bug report. Any estimate on when a fix for this will be available?
    Thanks
    Paul
