• Unable to create the wordfence-waf.php file… when trying to install WordFence in WordPress on IONOS website.

I read a resolved post for this problem that said:

You can check who that use should be by looking at the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page, in the PHP Environment section where it says “Process Owner”. That is who should own the files in that folder to write to.

The user name under process owner in the PHP section for WordFence is the correct username and the one I use for FileZilla.

When I login into FileZilla using the Process Owner shown above and the

    .htaccess is set to .rw-r–r–

and I cannot change it to .rw-rw-r–

    if that makes any difference.

I do get permission denied when trying to change attributes. How do I change the file permission to rw-rw-r–?

How do you see who the owner is for files under FilePress?

What do I do now, I am stumped.

I resolved my issues by contacting the hosting site, upgrading my site from a managed to a non-managed so I have all the access I need now. I knew it was an access problem but did not know of what order as my options were not explained when I purchased my website hosting. Learning bit by bit!
