• I started getting this error message with the creation of thumbnails from an uploaded picture last week. There seems to be no apparent cause, nor anything that has been modified. All permissions seem to be set as they should be, but still this message appears when trying to create a thumbnail…

Warning: imagejpeg(): Unable to access /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/skytower.me.uk/httpdocs/wp-content/_*****.jpg in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/skytower.me.uk/httpdocs/wp-admin/iimage-browser.php on line 403

Warning: imagejpeg(): Invalid filename ‘/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/skytower.me.uk/httpdocs/wp-content/_*****.jpg’ in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/skytower.me.uk/httpdocs/wp-admin/iimage-browser.php on line 403
    Thumbnail path invalid

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • Oh … I have the very same problem.

I guess it has to do with read/write permissions on the upload-folders … or perhaps the permissions set on the uploaded files?

Anyway … I too hope for some help with this …

I’m not smart enough to tell you whats wrong – but I had this problem a while back and my web server admin told me he did not have the right version of GD or Imagemagick or soemthing like that.

so look in that direction for an answer

I had the same problem.. I changed on isp the rights of directories
(also on www) from ‘you’ to ‘webserver’ and had no security issues
    anymore.

It sounds like what [allotherplaces] has suggested or perhaps a privileges issue. Are you running under ‘safe mode’ hosting by any chance? If you haven’t got a compatible version of GD for PHP, there is an ImageMagick-only alternative, which was recently posted in this forum.
