Unable to delete categories

  • I seem to have a problem with deleting categories. When I go to Manage >> Categories and than press the ‘delete’-button behind a category name, the category disappears for a few seconds and than returns with a red background. At that moment the WordPress Admin Panel suddenly uses the CSS of my theme. Example: https://i20.tinypic.com/dy9553.jpg

    As far as I can remember I did not had this problem when using WP 2.0. Now I’m using 2.3

  • I am having a similar problem. last week I installed 2.3.2. since then i cannot add or delete categories. it says and shows the category gone when i click delete but when i refresh or revisit the page, it does not. the same happens when i add.

    any suggestions? frustrated, i will do a complete clean reinstall and pray it helps. any help with this would be appreciated.

    This problem has been posted before (look for jhsesq and sarpicaste). I don’t believe that a sollution is given in the thread. I don’t have the problem myself and I upgraded from 2.3.1 to 2.3.2…

    I replaced the categories.js file today and it fixed the issue of not deleting categories. That’s why the complete upgrade worked.
