    Hi,

I want to delete old subscribers, but nothing happens when I delete them.
They do not go to the trash, and those that were already in trash, can also not be removed.

As soon as I click on for example “non confirmed subscribers” my browser’s gives a message saying that this page is slowing down the browser, please stop this page. Seems like everything freezes and clicking on the trash tab, or others simply not works. This happens in Firefox and Edge too.

Any idea’s how to solve this?

    Thanks!
    Annie

If you cannot delete a subscriber, it means they’re probably added to the WordPress Users list or the WooCommerce Customers list

WordPress Users should be deleted as a User by going to the WordPress dashboard > Users page

Customers added to the WooCommerce Customers list can not be removed from this list or from the MailPoet plugin, unless you delete their order from the WooCommerce plugin.

They can be marked as “Unsubscribed” though.

Let us know if that works or if you need further assistance.

    Hi,

The issue is that as soon as I hit for example the “unconfirmed” it looks like nothing happens, it freezes and above is the message “this page slows down your browser, stop this page”.

When I wait over a minute or so, finally the list of the unconfirmed is build and I can hit the select all.
However, again, nothing happens, all freezes, I can not even go to pages or anything else.

Again, after a minute of waiting, the build of the list unconfirmed is visible and selected.
After that I hit the “unsubscribe” and after a minute wait, I see the page change, but they are not added to the unsubscribe ones, they are still all in the “unconfirmed” list.

Same with the ones that are already in the waste bin. I can select all, and they are selected after a minute wait, but nothing happens, they are not deleted from the waste bin either?

Deleting users from WordPress users or costumers is tricky, because I only want to delete the ones that have never confirmed their subscription or are inactive for a very long time. I can only see and select those in the Mailpoet list.

Before, I could easily delete, without all the issues.

    Thanks,
    Annie

    Hi,

I finally found the cause of this delay!!
In screen options, the show items was set to 900.

When I set it to 100 the list builds rather quickly and I can delete again.

However, after deleting, and even seeing that the subscribers were gone and under 1000 in the build list total, after a few minutes it builds up again, and says I have again over 1000 subscribers???

    How is that possible?

After adding hundreds of old non confirmed subribers, to the “unsubscribe” list and then adding them to the trash and deleted trash, the amount is back to what it was?? Shortly after deleting, the amount was reduced under 1000 and now they are back, without new subcribers??

Furthermore, I authenticated the domain succesfully, all are with a green checkmark and marked as valid, and yet the warning keeps appearing in the Mailpoet dashboard.

Why is this happening and how to solve, please?

if one has mistakenly put the users as unsubscribed, how he can bulk subscribe them back?

    Hi there @logologics ,

In screen options, the show items was set to 900.

When the screen options is set to display too many subscribers this may cause performance issues indeed as it would take too much server resources to load them.

After adding hundreds of old non confirmed subribers, to the “unsubscribe” list and then adding them to the trash and deleted trash, the amount is back to what it was?? Shortly after deleting, the amount was reduced under 1000 and now they are back, without new subcribers??

Can you please confirm if these subscribers are in the WordPress Users or WooCommerce Customers lists?

Furthermore, I authenticated the domain succesfully, all are with a green checkmark and marked as valid, and yet the warning keeps appearing in the Mailpoet dashboard.

I do see that your sender domain is authenticated. Can you navigate to MailPoet > Settings > Key Activation and click “Verify” to refresh you key verification and check if the notice will go away?

    Hi,

Yes, they purchased the course with Woocommerce, and are clients and WordPress users.

But how can I identify ONLY the unsubscribed ones to delete, I can not go and manually search for those in over 1000 subscribers? I only want to delete the ones that never confirmed to get the newsletter. The WordPress and Woo users/clients can only be filtered by name and, with an extra plugin, the date they registered.

Strange that they also count as subscribers for the license, by the way.

PS. it’s all well authenticated now, thanks!

Another thing, the fact that clients are users or Woo clients, should not matter regarding being able to delete subscribers in Mailpoet.

I mean, even the non-confirmed count as subscribers, apparently.
Even when I set the non-confirmed to removed from list, so they will not be emailed with a newsletter, it still counts as subscribers for the license?

As a test, I removed old WordPress users, and only then the list count goes down.

That does not sound very logical?

    Hi again @logologics ????,

But how can I identify?ONLY?the unsubscribed ones to delete,

You can go to MailPoet > Lists, select the list in question and click on the Unconfirmed tab. If the issue is that they are counting towards your plan limit you can select those users and mark them as Unsubscribed.

If you remove them, they won’t count towards your plan limits.

    Hi Dani,

Thanks, but I know that and did that too, as stated in my previous postings here:

“After adding hundreds of old non confirmed subribers, to the “unsubscribed” list and then adding them to the trash and deleted trash, the amount is back to what it was?? Shortly after deleting, the amount was reduced under 1000 and now they are back, without new subcribers??”

I did it again, just now, will wait and see if they build up again in the subscribers count.

Sounds good. Note that even after switching the subscribers status to Unsubscribed is still not possible to delete them from the WooCommerce Customers or WordPress Users lists. But they won’t be coutnted agains your plan’s subscribers limit as long as they keep listed as Unsubscribed.

Let us know if you see anything different though!

    Hi,

I just went in and the unconfirmed were counted as subscribers.
I could have sworn I placed them all in the unsubcribed list, last time, that would mean they went back into the unconfirmed again.

I will check it in a few days again and see if they are back.

    Thanks!

    Thread Starter LogoLogics

    (@logologics)

    Hi,

It happened again! Two days ago I put all the unconfirmed to the unsubscribed list and the amount of subscribers was only the 44 that had actually confirmed their subscription.

It looked like this in my dashboard:
    https://app.screencast.com/K7v2IvVVbSSGX?conversation=zopzPxPh9CuXWTGe4gjvzf

Now two days later, all the 409 unconfirmed ones are back, they magically went from the unsubscribed to the non-confirmed ones, and are again counted as subscribers for the license???

Please look at my screenshot for the current situation:
    https://app.screencast.com/2OxTNz9elp2hq?conversation=KGmmQPggMHfbDoQ3S8r8Xd

How on earth can those manually transferred to unsubscribed, get back own their own and start counting as subscribers for the license?

    Hi @logologics

That is indeed an odd behavior as it shouldn’t change back to unconfirmed.
