I deactivated the plugin but when I try to delete it, nothing happens. My plan is to delete the folder via FTP, and then use WP-Optimize to clean up the database. If that is not the best method, can you please recommend a better way?

    Hi @dave8441
Is there a reason why you wanted to deactivate and delete the plugin? Anything gone wrong?

Most probably, a JS error on the plugins page prevents WordPress from normally deleting the plugin from the dashboard; more details of this error can be viewed in the browser console.

If you created staging sites using the plugin, deleting the plugin won’t delete them; you need to follow this guide to delete these staging sites. If you didn’t create staging sites, it’s okay to delete the plugin; there is no need to do anything from the database.

    Thanks,
    Alaa

    Hi @alaasalama,

You have a great plugin! The only reason I want to delete it is because I am no longer using it. I installed it only to troubleshoot an issue I was having. If I need to troubleshoot another issue in the future, I will certainly reinstall it.

Anyway, I’m not sure what the problem was, but this morning I was able to successfully delete the plugin.

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi @dave8441

Please note that you can use WP STAGING free version to create perioudic automatic backups. So I hope it can be helpful to you, even if you do not need a staging site right now:-)

    All the best,
    René
