When you first created this plugin, everything actually worked fine. Now ever since there have been multiple new updates and there is NO WAY to disable Messenger whatsoever. Even clicking Manage connection leads to the same stupid Facebook error “This content isn’t available at the moment”.

PLEASE ->>> A simple ON / OFF switch or instructions. I am not resetting the plugin and going through all that tedious nonsense again. You’ve had 2-3 new updates recently none of which show any sort value for real life users.

  • It is impossible to remove this plugin and it seems the (frequent) request from users is systematically ignored by Facebook. There must be a simple on/off toggle implemented soon, very annoying

    Hi @dariodesign,

Thanks for reaching out about the plugin. I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue as well. Since you’re not the person who originally started this topic then, per the forum guidelines, would you please start your own topic? We’ll be more than happy to help there ??

    Thanks,
    Marcus

    Hi @mitchellk ,

Thanks for reaching out. Happy to help you with this!

I’m sorry to hear that our plugin is giving you a bit of trouble. We’ve reached out to Facebook for some clarity around the “This content isn’t available at the moment” error. Usually, there would be a checkbox there to enable and disable the Messenger from your site.

In the meantime, you can switch this on and off by changing the database value for this checkbox. You can do this by going to yoursite.com/wp-admin/options.php, where yoursite.com is your website’s URL. There are likely a lot of fields here, but the only one you’ll need to look for is called wc_facebook_enable_messenger.

Would you please change the value of that field from yes to no and save the page to see if that disables the Messenger?

I know it’s not ideal, but hopefully helps until we can hear back from the Facebook team.

    Thanks,
    Marcus
